BP has always paid special attention to safety and reliability. BP trucks last a lifetime reaching 40 years and more in heavy industrial applications well above market averages. As an example the wheel wells shown in the picture to the right is manufactured with steel support over 5" (130 mm) thick. The side walls of the vehicle are built with 1" thick (20 & 25 mm) thick plates.

The torsion welded frame construction is designed to handle dynamic stress tests, where each wheel must negotiate a 3" step individually at maximum speed fully loaded. BP sideloaders are designed to comply with the most stringent up to date standards, and go the extra margin for reliability and safety. All BP sideloaders exceed the standards for stability and structural tests with static overload capacity of 33%.
